Preparing for your session

Thank you for taking the time to prepare for a stellar session. In truth, it’s up to you how much you want to prepare. The most important requirement is to surrender the session to your Higher Self and trust the process. All you have to do the day of your session is be yourself and show up.

However, many of us benefit greatly by learning to quiet the mind, release our expectations, and understand relevant information beforehand. For those who do not regularly practice meditation or guided visualization, you can increase your readiness for quantum healing hypnosis by practicing these incredibly helpful exercises leading up to your session (detailed below).

Quieting the thinking mind

If you are not a regular meditator now is the time to begin! A quiet mind that is able to let go of racing or looping thoughts is your best asset in a BQH session. Here are some simple guided meditations to explore:

Be present meditation

3 minutes of mindfulness

Self-compassion meditation

What is meditation?

Use a guided meditation or meditate in silence a minimum of 5-10 minutes per day leading up to your session. You may also use the following YouTube nature sounds with headphones to help reduce outside noise interference:

Forest Birds

Waterfall Sounds

Ocean Waves

Binaural beats with music

Creating intention + begin affirmations

It is important to begin to intend, from the very moment you have decided to schedule an appointment, to have clear and direct communication with that part of you that is able to provide healing and information. We’ll call that part of you your Higher Self.

AFFIRM OFTEN: “I have clear and direct communication with my Higher Self.”

Note the present tense of this sentence. It’s not “I will have”, it’s “I have.” You can repeat this intention either silently or out loud throughout your day and most importantly, right before you go to sleep at night. Put a “post it note” on your bathroom mirror to remind you and focus upon your intention. Trust in the power of these words.

Leave expectations behind

Intentions and expectations are completely different things. Specific expectations about what you are about to experience are not at all helpful. Clinging to expectations is also why some people’s conscious mind may “be present” for their session experience – attempting to maintain control or produce a desired outcome. The less you expect, the easier it is for your Higher Self to guide you.

HERE is a short helpful video about expectations in any Quantum Healing session.

Practice listening to guided regressions

Here are two free practice videos to help you become comfortable with guided regressions.

Play along with THIS until you are able to find your surprise in your own closet.

For THIS practice regression, keep a pad of paper or voice recorder near you if you’d like to record any impressions or details of your experience. Listen before sleeping or whenever you have quiet time for a magical journey.

Practice visualizing + using your imagination

Your Higher Self uses your imagination as a language to speak to you. Absorbing that idea and doing a bit of practice to stimulate your imagination is a good way to prepare.

Here are some additional articles to get you and your imagination primed and ready:

Common hypnosis myths you need to know

Simply put - no, you will not simply go to sleep and wake up with all of your problems solved and no, it is not required that you go so deep into hypnosis that you become unconscious.

Great healing and transformation can occur during both light and deep states of hypnosis in which you may retain present moment awareness.

Please read THIS short article about common hypnosis misperceptions, such as “I can’t be hypnotized.”

If you are concerned about being able to be hypnotized, your ability to visualize and use your imagination, or “making it all up” please read this short yet powerful article:

Dear left brained client

Prepare your list of questions + healing requests

You will prepare a list of your questions and concerns to ask your Higher Self (sometimes referred to as the Soul, Spirit, Wise Self, Higher Power, etc.). Ask anything you want!

You can either create a word document and email it to me the day before your session, or you can print/write it out and bring it to our appointment. Please neatly handwrite the list or print it so that I can easily read your questions during the session.

Also, put your questions and concerns in order of importance to you as we may not be able to address them all. I’ve had some clients bring a few questions or issues of concern to the session, and some who bring dozens. It really does not matter how many you come up with, only that you put them in order of importance. If you have questions regarding health concerns, please create a separate list of your specific symptoms (i.e. headaches, back pain, tension in right hand, anxiety in stomach, etc.).

What kind of questions? The general rule is to ask personal questions or keep topics related to you and your personal life. Please focus your questions on yourself and your own healing.

Here are a few examples of common questions you are welcome to use or adjust if you’d like:

  • What is my purpose?

  • Am I meant to be a parent in this life?

  • Why did I choose to incarnate at this time on Earth?

  • How can I best share my gifts with others?

  • Do I have any unresolved current or past life trauma? Can it be cleared?

  • I have had allergies since birth. Why? Can it be healed?

  • I am in a romantic relationship. Is this person right for me?

  • I have a difficult relationship with my sister. Why is this so and can it be resolved?

  • Many years ago I had something strange happen to me. (i.e. a dream, vision, or experience). What exactly happened, and why?

  • I have a lifelong interest in (any subject), can we explore this? Is this something I’m meant to do?

  • I have a condition that hasn’t healed with traditional medicine. What is the root cause? How can it be healed?

  • Is there anything I haven’t done to heal my pattern of ____ that would help?

  • I have a pattern of attracting abusive/unhealthy/hurtful people into my life. Why is this?

  • Did I choose my birth family? Why? Are there ancestral lessons or healing that I am part of?

  • Do I have a guardian angel or someone looking after me? How can I connect with them?

  • Why do I struggle with ____ (i.e. sexual intimacy, emotional regulation, losing weight, forgiving people, moving on, opening up to people, etc.)?

  • What is/was the purpose of ____ (i.e. a relationship, experience, loss, sudden change, difficult time, disease/illness, etc.)

  • Did I choose ___ experience as a soul lesson?

These are merely examples of commonly asked questions, please feel free to ask what you most desire to know.

I have my own prepared list of common questions that I can ask if you are focused upon only one or two issues, so don’t worry if you have a short list.

What to do the day before, the day of, and after your session

  1. Drink plenty of pure water days leading up to your session! Water is liquid consciousness that allows your body to receive and move energy, which will greatly assist your connection to your Higher Self. The more hydrated you are, the easier it will be to absorb the information and healing.

  2. Avoid alcohol, caffeinated beverages, and stimulants the day before and day of your session. If you are a regular morning coffee/tea drinker, you don’t need to skip it all together, just go easy and keep it to a minimum before your session.

  3. You may also choose to eat a light meal or snack prior to your session, but try to avoid heavy foods/a full stomach beforehand. You will be lying down for the hypnosis portion.

  4. Light exercise prior to your appointment, like a long walk or gentle yoga practice, is an excellent way to prepare for a successful session. This is another good time to repeat your intention. Ideally, you will feel your body is relaxed and your mind is quiet yet alert and present.

  5. Clear your day for the session. We begin by talking, going over the process and your questions. Then you get comfortable and relaxed and we begin the hypnotic “regression.” Afterwards, we go over what was experienced, and we make sure you are awake and grounded for the rest of your day.

It is generally not a good idea to have additional appointments after your session or plan a long drive (unless you are the passenger). Having a BQH session is very much like participating in a long, very involved daydream. You may feel as if you have just returned from visiting other worlds and lifetimes as many clients do exactly that. It is best to have some time to process your experience and ease back into your regular day-to-day reality before attempting any complex mental tasks or strenuous physical activity.

  6. Drink plenty of pure water and eat a nourishing, grounding meal following your session. Listen to your body and be gentle as you integrate all that you’ve learned and received from your session.

What happens after your session

After our session, I will prepare your digital recording and send a download link to your email address. Please download your file as soon as you receive the link and make a backup copy

Remember: Listening to your session in the days, weeks, and even months ahead can expand your session benefits. Even if your conscious mind “remembers” the session afterwards, it often begins to fade from your memory over time.

In addition, further energetic downloads of information may be enhanced by repeat listening. Any healing or life improvement suggestions will be reinforced by listening repeatedly to the audio. One goal of quantum healing is to have your conscious mind “get on board” to align with your Higher Self and its goals in order to accept any changes or healing you intend to occur. Listening to your recording before falling asleep is a great way to do this.

You will also be invited to share your experience with me as well as provide feedback following your session. I love hearing about how your session has impacted your life and wellbeing, but there is no pressure to share if you would rather not.

Is there anything else I can do to prepare?

Yes! Check out my free YouTube playlist of practices to prime your mind + body for a great regression HERE.
