Why it’s time to trust yourself
Learning how to listen to the voice within, to really trust yourself perhaps for the very first time, is monumentally healing for ourselves, our relationships, and our inner children..
Along the way to authentic self-trust, we all go through phases of seeking guidance and advice from outside sources...
While this can be helpful behavior, this pattern is often masking a deeper truth; our wounded parts may instinctively default to trusting others or putting greater faith in external authorities because we don't fully trust our own selves.
Why? We lose trust in ourselves for many reasons.
Perhaps you stopped feeling confident in yourself after so many disappointments, "failures," or mistakes.
Maybe you've been indecisive ever since you felt the pain of trusting someone who wasn't trustworthy after all.
Perhaps you're waking up to generational patterns of self-sabotage and self-betrayal from lifetimes of trauma and subconscious programming.
The list goes on.
At some point, no matter how resilient and trustworthy we truly are, we all experience confusion and doubt.
We question our ability to make the right choices and to follow our heart with complete faith in it's inexplicable direction.
The reality, though, is that most of the time, deep down inside - you know what you need to do.
And no one else can know what that is for you. It's an inner truth that must be accessed through intimate connection with your own intuition and knowing.
When I started listening within and honoring my internal guidance, alllll the subconscious fear and self-doubt came out to wage war against my intuition and self-trust.
I'd feel called to let go of something or make a *scary* change, then I'd lie awake ruminating on all of the "what ifs," incessantly running through every worst case scenario my mind could fathom.
I can still feel the pangs of anxiety that would keep me up at night, whispering lies and half-truths that churned into one overwhelming "Don't do it, it's not safe."
The thing is... the more I listened to that fear, the quieter my intuition became. The more stuck and lost I felt. Yet the more I trusted my intuition, the clearer it spoke.
It became crystal clear: analysis paralysis is a cleverly disguised never-ending avoidance pattern based in FEAR that PARALYZES rather than TRUST that FREES us to move deeper into our heartspace and align with our personal truth.
Fear paralyzes. Trust frees.
I felt this truth in my bones, yet embodying inner trust still wasn't (and isn't) easy.
Letting go of the fear-based narratives in my mind felt like suicide to my false sense of safety and control. For awhile, I felt naïve and crazy for leaning into heart-based choices, and why wouldn't I?
We live in a world that criticizes and shames us for following our hearts as if it's some go-with-the-flow hippie platitude that has no real value or impact on the way the world turns...
Yet it has EVERYTHING to do with where we are as a collective, how we navigate our lives as individuals, and ultimately how attuned we are to Higher Truth.
We simply don't discover Higher Truth without a trusting heart.
The mind can't go there.
The fear-ridden masses are not tapped into the reality beyond the veil of form.
And no secondary source knows what's right for you and your Soul.
If this resonates, perhaps it's time to take your trust back and gift it to yourself.
Imagine having the confidence to trust in yourself and your own sense of self-agency right now.
Envision how your mind, body, and life might shift if you embodied the knowing that you can make intelligent, life-changing, heart-centered decisions despite all of the reasons and excuses not to.
If you could feel radical self-trust growing in your body right now, what would your intuition reveal to you?
Trust and believe - the map to your personal evolution is resting within your heart, your bones, your blood, your DNA in every moment.
May you remember and trust your Self as you walk the inner path.
