7 types of rest (and what happens when we try them)

Every time I tune into Spirit lately, the message comes through with overwhelming clarity - NOW IS A TIME FOR DEEP REST!

Not next weekend.
Not after you cross off all your to-do's.
Not after you take care of everyone else's needs + wants.

Contrary to popular belief, being "productive" or keeping busy isn't necessarily healthy nor does it matter more than rest, sleep, relaxing with no agenda, or listening to our bodies cries for change.

Your wellbeing comes first. Period.

As individuals + a collective, we desperately need to shift our priorities to reflect the importance of genuine rest + rejuvenation.

So let's get real with ourselves - what is your daily relationship with rest? Is it the last thing on your list, or something you consistently prioritize?

If we don't say no to overworking, over booking ourselves, + taking on too much responsibility in our relationships...

Our body will say no for us. Our imbalanced lifestyle will begin to manifest as chronic stress, illness, + eventually disease.

May we regularly carve out space to unplug, tune into our hearts, + ask ourselves what kinds of R&R we need to FULLY thrive -

Even when our minds pretend it's not a big deal, we don't have time, or we can make up for it later... After that never ending list of stuff we "have to do" OR ELSE!

Seriously what will happen if you save a few things for another day + choose to slow down instead?

Your mind, body, + immune system will thank you for it.
Your mood will improve.
Your relationships will benefit.
You will heal.
And yes, the world will keep spinning + life will go on.
