Healing is not…
Healing is many things and looks different for each of us. Unfortunately, there are tons of healing myths circulating in modern culture - myths that can be individually and collectively harmful to continue to believe and live by. So, what is healing? What is it NOT?
Healing is not…
💎 a linear process; healing is cyclical + multidimensional which requires more than the passage of time in most cases
💎 coming from outside of you; all healing is self-healing thus we must be genuinely willing + open to receive healing to effect lasting change
💎 in someone else's hands or something someone else can give/do for you; true healers will always guide you back to your own power to heal yourself
💎 easier for some people than others; this is an illusion based on external appearances + false assumptions we often make in light of how much or little a person reveals their true struggles + healing process
*spoiler: social media is not an accurate representation of a person or their life as a whole - you are viewing a curated reel of what that person has chosen to polish + reveal which is often very little of their daily reality or complete Self
💎 dependent on one miracle method or tool that works for everyone every time; the truth is we all need different types of healing throughout our lives which will require experimenting with new tools/practices over + over as we evolve + experience different kinds of hurt or illness, what works for you may not work for another + what works for you at one point may not be the right fit later on
*keep exploring, don't give up because you haven't found the right tools for you yet!
💎 only something to worry about when shit hits the fan + we feel we can't function or ignore the pain; long-term wellbeing demands that we adjust our present lifestyle + focus on preventative healing practices that support us in becoming more + more resilient to life's challenges over time
💎 something you can force anyone to want or do; we cannot force, fix, or save another person nor can our love + care substitute their own willingness to love + care for themselves
*this is especially difficult for empaths + those with co-dependent patterns to accept, because enabling behaviors run deep into the enabler + the enabled's subconscious programming which must be addressed at the root to create lasting change
